Modern version, old Minecraft

Alpha Indefinite feels like beta, but is played with the latest vanilla client.
The mods are purely server-side only.

An optional modpack is provided to give a beta look & feel.

Changes

Below is a list of server-side changes we've made to revert the game back to its previous state:

  • Beta 1.7.3 world generation
  • Explosions drop every block they affect
  • The end and ender dragon have been removed
  • Enchantments now cost substantially more lapis
  • Creepers and skeletons are smarter
  • Pillagers are removed
  • Enchantments are nerfed
  • Sprinting and hunger are removed
  • Phantoms are removed
  • Old combat system is back
  • Punching sheep drops their wool
  • Snowballs and other projectiles cause knockback
  • Log stripping is removed
  • Off hand is removed
  • Punching TNT detonates it
  • Food cannot be stacked
  • Zombies drop feathers
  • Food heals hearts instantly
  • Chat macros: {coords} {llgw} {bed}

Overall, the game has been reverted back to a state where building is the largest priority, but it also provides new end-goals for players who enjoy having them. The game is generally more difficult with the changes we've made - and we welcome that.

Still love some of the new blocks? Need something that is no longer naturally generated? Don't worry - time traveling wandering traders can trade with you and provide blocks from the future to help your builds and goals. Explore the world and encounter them!

Play

How to play:

  1. Install the modpack (optional, but strongly recommended)
  2. Join the Discord
  3. Read the password in #info
  4. Connect to mc.alphaindefinite.com
  5. Type the password ingame to play

We use a password instead of a whitelist; It blocks griefer bots while being easy-to-join.

Modpack

Use our optional Java modpack for a better experience.
(Works for MultiMC, PolyMC, Prism, etc.)

  1. Download and install MultiMC: https://multimc.org/download/
  2. Download our modpack zip here
  3. Open MultiMC
  4. Drag and drop the zip file inside
  5. Double-click the new icon to play
